2.1 Information You Provide (via Google Sign-In)

When you sign in with Google, we receive the following from Google's OAuth service:

We use your information exclusively for the following purposes:

• Providing the Service: To authenticate you, save your progress, and display your personalised dashboard.
• Leaderboards: Your display name and scores are shown on act-wise and global leaderboards (visible to all logged-in users).
• Progress Tracking: Quiz history, accuracy, and streak data help you monitor your preparation.
• Service Improvement: Aggregated, anonymised data (not linked to your identity) may be used to improve question quality and platform features.
• Security: Detecting and preventing fraudulent or automated activity that violates our Terms of Service.
• Legal Compliance: If required by applicable Indian law or court order.

We do not use your data for advertising, third-party marketing, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating LexIQ QUIZ.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and applicable Indian data protection principles, we process your data on the following bases:

• Consent: You explicitly consent to our data practices by ticking the Terms & Privacy checkbox before signing in.
• Contractual necessity: Processing is necessary to provide the Service you have signed up for.
• Legitimate interests: Security monitoring and aggregated analytics to improve our educational product.

You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account, which will permanently erase your personal data from our systems.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data only in these limited circumstances:

5.1 Within LexIQ QUIZ

Your display name, profile picture, and scores are visible to other LexIQ QUIZ users on the public leaderboard. Your email address and detailed quiz history are never visible to other users.

5.2 Service Providers

We use Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure) to store your data. Supabase processes data on our behalf under strict data processing terms. Data is stored on servers in appropriate regions. We do not use any advertising or analytics third parties.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by applicable Indian law, a valid court order, or government authority — but only to the minimum extent required.

5.4 Business Transfer

If LexIQ QUIZ is acquired or merged with another entity, your data may be transferred. We will notify you via email before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, which uses:

• AES-256 encryption at rest for all database records.
• TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit for all data transfers.
• Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data.
• Regular automated backups.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong Google account password and enable two-factor authentication on your Google account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:

• Active accounts: Data is retained indefinitely while you use LexIQ QUIZ.
• Deleted accounts: All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Anonymised aggregate data may be retained.
• Inactive accounts: Accounts with no login activity for 24 consecutive months may be purged after 30 days' prior notice to your registered email.

8. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:

9. Cookies & Local Storage

LexIQ QUIZ uses browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store your session data and quiz progress locally on your device. This includes:

• lexiq_user: Your Google profile info (name, email, picture) — stored after sign-in.
• lexiq_stats: Your local quiz statistics and history.

This data is stored only on your device and is separate from our server-side database. You can clear this data any time by clearing your browser's local storage or using the "Delete Account" feature.

10. Children's Privacy

LexIQ QUIZ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their information without parental consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.

Users between 13 and 18 should have a parent or guardian review this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, for significant changes, by email notification to your registered address. Continued use of LexIQ QUIZ after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
